A Calendar!

I have added a calendar to the blog. Whoopie... Except that it's a lot less trivial than it should be. First off finding something that will work, but be simple anough to add and just produce HTML (none of this java servlet-based, needs a separate webhost and mySQL database BS...). Then getting it spliced into the template just the way you want. And then of course actually tying in the colors and styles to look like it belongs there. Way too difficult. Blogspot should really just incorporate a calendar app into the engine so the average Joe doesnt have to mess with all that. And anyway, even then, this doesnt really do what I wish it would. I wanted something that would allow people (or myself only maybe) to add things to the calendar - people's birthdays, upcoming events, whatnot. This is just a thing that shows my posts. I got the code bits to add to the template ov er at Phil Ringnalda's Javascript for Blogger Archives Calendar page.

So now you can easily see all the NON-posting I am doing... :-)
